How to use the Green (T4) Sappi Callfinder®

How to turn it on/off

To turn it on

Hold in the power button for a few seconds until the blue light goes on and you can hear a sound.

Do not press any other buttons.

To turn it off

To turn it off, hold in the power button for a few seconds until the blue light goes off and you can hear a sound.

Do not press any other buttons.

The Callfinder will switch off automatically when it is inactive for more than three minutes.

How to use your Callfinder®

Hold the Callfinder® like a pen in an upright position. Touch the selected photo with the tip of the Callfinder®. You should now hear the sound of the specific bird/mammal or words.

For some photos, only a ‘beep’ sound will be heard. This happens because that particular sound is not available. 

To switch to the next sound

To hear the next sound, simply touch the next relevant picture with the tip of the Callfinder®, still keeping the Callfinder® in a vertical position. 

Do not press the On/Off Power Button!

How to change the volume

Hold the Callfinder® like a pen in your hand. The volume buttons will be on the bottom of the Callfinder®. There are five volume levels.

To turn volume louder

To turn the volume up or louder, press the volume button that is pointing upwards. Press it until you are happy with the sound.

To turn volume softer

To turn the volume down or softer, press the volume button that is pointing downwards or the one closest to the back side of the Callfinder®. Press it until you are happy with the sound.

To record sounds

  • Press the record button once. A “beep” sound will play and then you can start recording.
  • Press the record button once again to stop recording.
  • Press the record button for two seconds and release it to listen to your recording.
NB. Up to ten recordings can be stored on your Callfinder which has almost 100 minutes of store capacity.

To plug in alternative cables

USB port

Use this port to connect your Callfinder® to your computer. You will need to connect your Callfinder® to your computer when uploading or updating sound files or when you would like to listen or view your recordings.

Earphone port

You can plug in a set of earphones so that only you can listen to your sounds. This is especially helpful when you are in an environment that requires you to be quiet. Alternatively, if you want to make your sounds louder, you can plug a speaker in here as well.

Please note that you cannot plug in earphones that have an alternative jack, for example iPhone earphones.
