CJ Cilliers

Author CJ Cilliers is a retired researcher with a PhD in entomology. She is known for her research on the biological control of insects pests and aquatic weeds, implementing biological control and integrated pest and weed management in South Africa and elsewhere. This includes work on aquatic weed species like salvinia (Salvinia molesta), water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes), parrot’s feather (Myriophyllum aquaticum) and water lettuce (Pisita stratiotes). Her extensive experience in the biology and ecology of aquatic environments was invaluable in the publication of Aquatic and Wetland Plants of Southern Africa.
