Briza Publications author Margaret Roberts (1937 – 2017) has published several books and articles on herbs, health and gardening. She is well known for her television shows, radio appearances and lavender collection marketed through Woolworths. She runs the Herbal Centre at De Wildt in the North West Province, where visitors are invited to share her herbal experience and to walk amongst her extraordinary lavender collection, all named and catalogued.

A tribute to Margaret Roberts
Margaret, my mom knew to have a plan or dream is one thing, but making it work was the ultimate goal. Her many dedicated years of research and work with herbs and medicinal plants bear providence.
Mom was a tireless, hard worker and believed that with a positive attitude and hard work anything was possible. Her unwavering faith was the foundation and in her years of writing books her words eased hearts, inspired and gave hope to build little gardens of healing, fragrance and food… and even then much more. Her pioneering strength has become an inspiring pillar to follow the path.
There are not many people one truly loves in life – those who inspire with their knowledge, shine with their pure passion and fill you with hope and love. It has been an honour and privilege to work alongside my mom, Margaret, for 32 years at the Herbal Centre in De Wildt, and it is with mother’s milk that she taught me from birth the wonder and magic that the garden produces. Together we built and grew The Herbal Centre, every day we worked and created a dream. We were the left and the right hand working in unison with unconditional support and harmony to share with you our world of herbs and plants.
It is with gratitude that I can continue our dream and Mom’s legacy. She will be forever in our hearts.
