Briza Publications author Julye-Ann Venter grew up in Southern Africa and has had a keen interest in plants and their cultivation from an early age. She is a qualified Horticulturist with extensive experience in running her own indigenous plant nursery in South Africa and a nursery specializing in large trees in New Zealand. She is currently living in Tropical North Queensland, Australia where she has started up a nursery specializing in the growing and hybridizing of Clivia. She loves tramping in the Tropical Rainforests and particularly enjoys the orchid and palm flora and the colourful bird species. Other pursuits include scuba diving on the Barrier Reef and keeping fit.
