Briza Publications author Helen Lachenicht is the co-author of the bestselling gardening book, Making Sense of Garden Design and Sinvolle Tuinontwerp. Helen recognises good friends and mentors Bruce Stead and Heather Balcomb as instrumental in the creation of Irene School of Garden Design, and has a passion for indigenous plants. Helen is also an advisor for numerous magazine articles and newspapers. Helen’s passion for indigenous plants, understanding of design principles and sincerity to nature is what called her to share principles of garden design with the public. She is also an expert on designing gardens for pets, as well as planting schemes for flower beds, using colour, texture and form to your advantage.
Her other passions are family first, dogs, namely Australian Cattle Dogs, and elephants. At present she is co-authoring an introduction book to South African Landscape Design and overseeing the creation of an indigenous dolomite landscape in Irene.
