Rolf Becker

Briza Publications author Rolf Becker graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biochemistry, as well as a Master of Science and PhD in Biochemistry. He was Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Limpopo for 20 years, while also furthering his career in university administration, focused on change management. Currently he is Dean of the Faculty of Natural Resources and Spatial Sciences at the Namibian University of Science and Technology.

For the past 15 years roles has been travelling throughout southern Africa studying live populations of euphorbias in their natural environment along with fellow author Alma Möller. They have taken more than 55,000 photos of euphorbias and covered in excess of 200,000 km during their travels by road. Their love for these extraordinary plants is translated into their field guide, Field Guide to the Succulent Euphorbias of Southern Africa, being born out of their own frustrations attempting to identify euphorbias in the field.
